Making paper by hand is lots of fun!

I can add all sorts of materials and experimenting is one of my specialities. Apple and lavender are my favourite perfumes to add.

I have my own recipes, which I have achieved through experimentation. The hand made paper itself is very strong and unusual.

I find it very satisfying to create decorative or functional pieces, all of which are truly unique. Every new sheet is different from the previous one.

Open up one of my hand made paper writing sets and nature jumps out at you from the delicate textures and fibres of the fruit and flowers enclosed in the paper wallet.

To make your own paper you need a liquidiser, a large rectangular bowl, a mould and deckle plus some mesh.

The mould and deckle are wooden frames you dunk into the pulp. Pulp is your recycled paper that you have put through a liquidiser first before putting it into a bowl.

The mould and deckle determine the size of your hand made paper.
The pulp is made up of recycled print paper, to which you can add dyes or dried flowers.

To learn more about making paper go your local library or search on the web for a good book on it.
